Bumble teams up with the Bailey Baio Foundation.

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Bumble Bags donated product to help raise funds for the Bailey Baio Foundation. They recently hosted a Celebrity Baby Yard Sale at the Sportsmen Lodge Hotel in Studio City, CA.

This very special event was produced by the Bailey Baio Angel Foundation®, which was launched by Renee and Scott Baio to promote more extensive newborn screening throughout our nation. Proceeds will go toward sustaining children and families affected by life-threatening metabolic disorders (including GA1 and other organic acidemia).

The Baio Family: Renee', Bailey & Scott

The Baio’s daughter Bailey (whose initial GA1 diagnosis proved to be incorrect) inspired other parents to find a way to increase public awareness and create new legislation for mandated Enhanced Newborn screening (ENBS).

The event included apparel and gear from over 25 well known baby and apparel gear companies such as Stride Rite, Scandinavian Child and of course Bumble Bags.

The event supporters included Dennis Quaid, Jason Priestly, Samantha Harris and Tracy Gold to name a few.

“We want to do what we can to make the world a healthier, happier place,” Renee Baio affirms, “and a big part of that is offering support to families who have to deal with this really difficult situation."

ENBS is not mandated in all states. To see a detailed map of what newborns are screened for state by state, click here.

"We received a phone call from Founder Scott Baio about the event and we knew that we had to help bring awareness to this very important cause" states Designer Jennie Lynn Johanson.

CBB Rave Review: We’re All A Buzz About This One.

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Celebrity Baby Blog recently had this to say about our Buzz Buzy Bee Backpack….

Shown in Green below. Available in 4 colors: Black, Blue, Green & Red.

"The Bumble Collection may have thought of everything when they designed the Busy Bee Backpack diaper bag ($70). It comes in black, green, blue or red fabric that’s quilted with a cute-but-subtle bee pattern.

The Busy Bee Backpack comes with an adjustable shoulder strap, padded, adjustable backpack straps and matching, quilted stroller straps. The unused straps store nicely in a side pocket. On each end is a zippered bottle pocket and on top is a clever diaper-and-wipes compartment that’s accessible without rummaging through the main compartment of the bag.

When it’s time for a change, simply unzip the entire front of the bag and it becomes a changing surface while a mesh barrier keeps all your stuff from falling out. The removable changing pad attaches to the changer with Velcro. It is not wipeable but it is machine washable and the fabric matches the bag’s lining. The stiff bottom keeps the whole thing upright, which I love when it’s sitting next to my chair in a restaurant.

Perhaps the coolest thing about the Busy Bee Backpack is the included snack bag. Picture a rectangular makeup case with a zipper around three sides and a removable, fabric divider and a mesh pocket inside. It has a handle on top for carrying it separately or it fastens with Velcro onto the inside of the bag. If you’re toting Tupperware full of babyfood like I am, this little lunch box is a godsend.

The Busy Bee Backpack packs a lot of features, versatility and style in a nice-looking bag for $70. I think it’s the bee’s knees."

I confess I’m a closet scrap booker. I love to scrap book and they are quite elaborate if I do say so myself. The only problem is finding the time. I have tons of photos and mementos just waiting to be put into books.
