Eating Chocolate Can Protect Your Baby.

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

Good news for to-be-moms! Eating chocolate can protect your unborn baby, for a study has found that it helps prevent pregnancy-induced hypertension known as pre-eclampsia.

A team of researchers at Yale University has found that pregnant women who eat chocolate at least five times a week are 40 per cent less likely to develop pre-eclampsia than those who consume it less than once a week.

According to them, the chemical theobromine — which occurs naturally in chocolate, particularly in dark varieties — could be responsible for the protection. In their study, the researchers looked at 2,291 pregnant women and tested the levels of theobromine in their infants’ umbilical-cord blood.

The study found that those women who consumed the most chocolate and those whose babies had the highest concentration of theobromine, were the less likely to develop pre-eclampsia than who who did not have chocolate.

Last Chance: Cappuccino Dot is Going Bye- Bye.

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

In order to make room for new items to come… We are discontinuing Cappuccino Dot in all styles including Infant/Toddler car seat covers (see below). There is limited availability since we will not be restocking this all time favorite. So if you see it and want it, you’d better snatch it up.

Cappuccino Dot is a great print if you are buying a shower gift because it utilizes both pink and blue. There is a soft brown as well which matches a lot of the strollers out there. The lining is also a soft brown.

All our products are water-resistant, stain resistant and machine washable.

We thank everyone who supported us on Sunday April 27, 2008 in Boston, MA at the March for Babies. We had a great time and it was so nice meeting everyone.

Best of all..Thanks to all of your generous contributions we were able to raise funds for a much bigger than expected donation for March for Babies formally March of Dimes.

The money raised through March for Babies will support lifesaving research, community services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.

One day all babies will be born healthy, but we have to walk to get there. For more information on March for Babies and how you can help, click here.
